MiDieta Console App

MiDieta is an award-winning, online, culturally-appropriate diet, fitness and weight management program designed specifically for U.S. Hispanics. MiDieta's redesign was a great challenge to take on. From it's original launch over 10 years ago, it had always committed to giving it's subscribers the best tools in Spanish and tailored to their Hispanic dietary preferences and habits. Once mobile arrived an app was created which shrunk the program which while worked ok it was considered a bit lacking in scale in comparison to it's web counterpart. So we decided to overhaul the whole design and start from scratch.

MiDieta, the healthy way latinos achieve their weight goals.

As UX design lead I worked closely with the nutrition experts team to address a list of essential we needed to keep and the parts of the program that had become obsolete. From there we created the user stories that would enable us to identify our goals and approaches. Feedback came from both within and outside the team through some open forums created so the public could share their expectations of the new program.

Our one common goal was make the new iteration of MiDieta a clean and razor sharp UI so users could access their daily calories counts, menus and other relevant info as fast and clutter free as possible across all devices. We also changed our color scheme to more neutral, earthy tones for the UI console and implemented satured colors as accents to help identify key elements, like food groups and values.

MiDieta today has been streamlined both in design and configuration.
